Station Information Controller

Job Description and Requirements

JOB PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to provide prompt, up-to-date, and clear information from the station control room at stations for SAR Passengers.

Job Description:

Monitor and maintain station operational status and to ensure the safety and comfort of passenger movement within the station and car park premises.       

Provide prompt, up-to-date and clear information from the station control center to passengers at stations.

Assist station supervisor by organizing external communications and take up station supervisor duties as required.

Monitor the passenger movements at station (platforms) and car park and liaise with Station Supervisor for passenger management.

Monitor status of station equipment.

Alert and inform the OCC of incidents at station and car park.

Perform shift and emergency duties when required.

Liaise with third parties including Police, Civil Defense, ambulance during emergency.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree holder or higher diploma of post-secondary education in a related discipline.

 

EXPERIENCE:

 

  • A minimum of 2 years, preferably 3 years, of similar work related experience for railway organizations, public utilities companies, or government offices including foreign embassies
  • Staff delivering customer services in a railway station or equivalent.

 

Skills:

  • Good English and Arabic communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Highly motivated with a flexible approach in a time-sensitive environment to respond quickly and effectively to unanticipated high workloads, events and emergencies.
  • Ability to liaise in a professional and persuasive manner with staff at all levels in the organization.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills required for the role.
  • Ability to understand complex systems and possess good IT skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
