Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Description and Requirements


The Quality Assurance Specialist will support the quality assurance effort for SAR to move to a robust and standard process to meet demanding customer requirements and deliver successful operation. Working with a team of highly skilled staff and management personnel, this position will participate and support the Quality function to lead our company and contract partners to the “best practice” business operations methods. The Quality function within SAR will lead team members to a long term quality assurance vision, embrace new product introductions, formalized policies/procedures, and establish performance metrics. This position will be accountable for quality assuring new and existing products and services. Ensure that products and services comply with regulatory standards, create data collection techniques with suppliers, direct supply chain audits, create quality technical specifications, and provide quality workmanship standards. Participate in product/service change control activities, work with customers on complaints and return authorizations, ensure that statistical control is maintained, and apply six sigma tools/techniques.

Experience & Qualifications

 Minimum 3 years Quality Assurance / Quality Control position(s), preferably in industry related to transportation or alike 
• Formal higher education, preferable Bachelor’s degree or graduate education in sciences, engineering, or business management.
• Technical knowledge base of ISO9001 certification guidelines.
• Statistical process control systems and Cpk measurement techniques.
• Comprehension of master scheduling, production planning, inventory control, material requirements planning, contract administration in purchasing, and third party logistics (3PL’s).
